I live in the country, in Boxhill in Surrey. And I wouldn’t change it for the world. But I was born in London and explored it as a boy with my father. Here are a few of the places I like to visit. The British Museum The Victoria & Albert Museum – there are so many good exhibitions there The Royal Albert Hall – Particularly during the BBC Promenade Concert season Lords Cricket Ground – nothing can beat a test match on a summer’s day The Thames - opposite St Paul’s Cathedral by Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre Kew Gardens – the glasshouses are amazing. Putney Bridge and the river by the boathouses. The National Portrait Gallery – faces are my business Hyde Park – there’s always something happening The Chelsea Flower Show – I always end up buying something exotic! The Royal Opera House – any opera, although Verdi and Wagner are my favourites London Silver Vaults – there are still treasures to be found Camden Market – you can buy some very exotic things here, including food from all over the world Kempton Park Racecourse – well it’s nearly London. Wigmore Hall– marvellous music, almost everyday of the year.
“It was a big room, about the size of the British Museum, with a blazing log fire at either end.”
